What is Dementia?

In this post we share what dementia disease is.





Dementia disease is a weakness of mental skills due to diseases. The most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer's disease that at least half of all patients suffering from dementia. At the same time, there are 200 different types of disease causing brain weakness. Dementia is a result of a disease, not old age.
Risk of dementia increases with age and is due to an illness. It is not true that dementia is a result of old age. A few of diseases with dementia symptom can be treated but some of these diseases can be treated a little bit or more.  Because of this, it is important to explain which disease can cause the dementia and treatment process.


Course of the disease depends on the cause. Many diseases are elevated and treatment of dementia cannot be going. Course time may vary from a number of years to a few decades. Generally, dementia is not hereditary. Only 2-3% of the dementia events are hereditary.
